Planning Update

I'm not sure whether I should be quoting the Vicar of Dibley, or a sketch from Not the Nine O'Clock News - but anyway it looks like the BBC will be filming the deliberations of CWaC's planning committee - and in particular some Frodsham planning applications.

We know the BBC are interested in the application to build 2 houses at 64 Howey Lane.  That matter looks likely to go to the October planning committee.

The application to create a 'hot food shop' (to use the planning terminology) or a cafe to you and me for 40A Main Street will be heard by the planning committee on 3 September.  At the bottom of this posting you'll find the text of a letter I hand delivered this morning to 60 properties at the west end of Frodsham this morning.

Planning officers have turned down an application to make the Gypsy and Traveller site on Bradley Lane permanent.

I gather a planning application is to be submitted shortly by a company seeking to use part of the marshes for hovercraft related activities.  I'm told the company is looking to use land near the model aircraft field.  Clearly we'll all need to look at the proposals carefully - but as a concept and subject to understanding the details of the application - this could work at that location.  I'm all for bringing jobs to Frodsham and increasing the controlled leisure use of the marshes.

Do make sure you have your say on any planning application you are interested in.  They are all accessible via CWaC's planning portal.  You'll find the details quoted in the following letter.

 Dear Neighbour                                                                               17 August 2013

Planning application 13/02099/COU – change of use of 40A Main Street, Frodsham Change of use of ground floor from Retail to A3 Cafe

Following comments from concerned residents Cllr Lynn Riley and I lobbied hard to have this planning application considered by the council’s planning committee.  We have been successful.  It is to be considered by Cheshire West and Chester Council’s planning committee on 3 September 2013.  The meeting is scheduled to start at 4pm at the Council’s HQ Building, 58 Nicholas Street Chester CH1 2NP.

Anyone can attend the meeting and there is a limited opportunity for those who want to express views to the committee to do so.  Both Cllr Lynn Riley and I intend to be there and speak on the matter highlighting local residents’ views.   If you are intending to attend in person do let Jane Binyon of CWaC know.  She can be contacted 01244 972227.

You can also watch the meeting live on the internet or view it later if you choose.  Just follow the links on the Council’s website – www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk

The agenda will be published 7 days before the meeting.  Do check where this matter is listed on the agenda – as it may save you waiting around for a couple of hours!  You will also be able to read the officer’s report and recommendations in advance of the meeting.  I don’t know what the recommendation is yet.

The details of the planning application and what people have said about it can also be inspected on line via the council’s website.  Just type in ‘cheshire west planning portal’ into a search engine and you’ll very quickly be there!  Just put the application number in the search box and all will be revealed!  You can also find out what other applications are to be considered.

If you don’t have the internet at home you can call in to Frodsham Library and use the computers there.  The staff will be very willing to help you.

If there is anything you would like Lynn or I to help you with please be in touch.

Kind regards,
Yours sincerely,
